Yesterday, February 3rd, the match between Avangard and the Chinese team Shanghai Dragons on Channel 12 was commentated by new commentators. They were local sports journalist Anton Rudnev and radio host Roman Malevich.
Currently, Rudnev heads the hockey editorial department of the Sports.ru portal. In the 2010s, he commentated on matches of the Hawks on Sport FM radio. Malevich, on the other hand, worked at the Europa Plus radio station.
The commentator replacement occurred after a scandalous incident involving Maxim Grechanin. He insulted young Kazakh hockey players live on air. As Channel 12 General Director Artyom Serov told NGS55.RU, the commentator went on a «creative leave».
Omsk residents reacted strongly to the new hosts. In Channel 12«s VKontakte public page, some noted that the commentators were «cold».
