Ksenia Shoigu heads fund for Krasnoyarsk metal cluster

The daughter of former Russian Defense Minister and current Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu has been appointed to head the Fund for the Development of the Innovative Scientific and Technological Center «Mendeleev Valley». The corresponding order was signed by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
Ksenia Shoigu commented on her appointment as follows:
“A huge responsibility and honor for our entire team. Friends, this is an absolutely new stage for us, ahead lies large-scale and structurally complex work. We will focus on the result! Thank you for the trust!” she wrote in her Telegram channel.
Before Ksenia Shoigu, the fund was headed by Alexander Maslennikov. He was dismissed from this position.
The «Mendeleev Valley» science center itself will be built in the Krasnoyarsk Academgorodok. The project was described by Krasnoyarsk City Council deputy Boris Rastoskuev. According to him, the unfinished SKTB «Nauka» building in Academgorodok and the surrounding area were chosen for «Mendeleev Valley».

Sergei Shoigu announced the creation of a cluster for deep processing of non-ferrous, rare, and rare-earth metals in the Angara-Yenisei region during a visit in November 2025. The cluster itself includes territories of the Krasnoyarsk region, Irkutsk Oblast, Khakassia, and Tuva. The cluster will unite dozens of enterprises, scientific institutes, and universities. According to Shoigu, the total area of the cluster will be over 3,000 hectares.
