A new Orthodox church will appear in the Pionersky District of Yekaterinburg. It will be consecrated in honor of Saint Spyridon of Trimythous. Construction has already begun on Raevskogo Street. The day before, Metropolitan Evgeny of Yekaterinburg and Verkhoturye and Mayor Alexei Orlov visited the site.
«It is interesting that when construction began, there were no houses around at all. And now the church finds itself in the middle of a residential area! — the bishop noted in his Telegram channel. — Through the prayers of Saint Spyridon, may the lives of people in this area be built up. And may the walls of this new beautiful church rise!»
It is also worth noting that on the night of July 16–17, the annual religious procession took place, gathering tens of thousands of believers. Participants walked from the Church on the Blood to the Monastery of the Holy Royal Passion-Bearers on Ganina Yama. The route was over 20 kilometers long, and the journey took about four hours.
