Orthodox Church Under Construction in Dense Yekaterinburg District

A new church, to be named after St. Spyridon of Trimythous, is being built in the Vtuzgorodok district of Yekaterinburg. Construction is underway on Rayevskogo Street. The day before, Metropolitan Evgeny of Yekaterinburg and Verkhoturye, along with Mayor Alexei Orlov, inspected the site.
«It is interesting that when construction began, there were no houses around at all. And now the church finds itself in the middle of a residential district! — Metropolitan wrote on his Telegram channel. — May the life of people in this district be built up through the prayers of St. Spyridon. And may the walls of this new beautiful church rise!»
Earlier we reported that on the night of July 16–17, thousands of believers took part in a religious procession from the Church on the Blood to the Monastery of the Holy Royal Passion-Bearers at Ganina Yama. This massive procession, the largest of its kind, annually draws tens of thousands of pilgrims. The route is over 20 km, and the journey took about four hours. We followed the procession live online.
