Oleg Sheps Recalls Cringey Joke That Won His Wife

Oleg Sheps has revealed how his relationship with photographer Polina Eremenko began; she became his wife in July. Before the wedding, the couple dated for about a year, and their first conversation took place where both were working at the time.

The 28-year-old winner of “Battle of the Psychics” (16+) noticed Polina during the filming of the project “Psychics: Rematch” (16+). Sheps was in the studio as one of the judges, while Eremenko photographed what was happening on set.

According to Oleg, the girl immediately caught his attention so strongly that the usually confident medium even began to feel nervous. He decided to start a conversation with a joke. No complicated mystical demonstration was needed, however.

“It all started with my cringey joke. I noticed her, couldn’t take my eyes off her, even got a little nervous. I said: ‘Wait, don’t tell me who you are.’ And she’s standing there with a camera in her hands. I said: ‘I’ll say it myself — you’re a photographer!’ That was it. She laughed and somehow it took off from there,” said the winner of season 21 of “Battle of the Psychics” (16+).

The joke was simple, but effective. About a year after the relationship began, things led to a wedding. In May 2026, Sheps proposed to Polina, and in July they officially registered their marriage.

The newlyweds did not hold a big celebration. They invited about 30 relatives and friends. Oleg explained that he and Polina did not want a noisy wedding and preferred to spend the day in a more intimate home setting. At the same time, this option allowed them not to inflate the budget, which the couple considered quite reasonable given current prices.

Sheps spoke about the expenses on Natasha Gasankhanova’s show “DaDa — NetNet” (16+).

“Weddings are expensive now. We considered different options, even approached one of the largest agencies in Moscow, and they quoted us a serious sum. We realized that, in principle, we didn’t need that. We wanted to gather the closest and dearest people and have a great time on our special day. Unfortunately, not everyone was able to come,” said the younger Sheps.

Later, Polina Eremenko shared footage from the celebration. For the registration, she chose a lace dress with open shoulders and a veil. Oleg appeared in black trousers and a shirt, completing the look with a white jacket.

Among the guests were the groom’s older brother Alexander Sheps and Dmitry Matveev, who also won “Battle of the Psychics.” In the end, the couple did without a large-scale banquet, and the acquaintance that began with a rather obvious determination of the photographer’s profession turned out to be far more successful for Sheps than the joke itself.

By the way, the beginning of Oleg Sheps and Polina’s relationship was not the most cloudless. The psychic admitted that at that time he had to deal with his own weaknesses and change habits that were getting in the couple’s way.
