Authorities in Tyumen have decided to demolish the Yuzhny Market located on Chaplina Street. The demolition is necessary to widen the street. The market administration and tenants have been notified of the upcoming work.
According to sellers, the market will continue operating until April. Unlike previous cases when tenants were offered alternative locations, no such practice exists in this situation.
«This [Yuzhny] market was my last one, and they are taking it away. The other day, people from the Land Department came and said to remove everything within two days. But how? I can easily find another job, but what about the sellers? When they demolished the Na Minskoy market back then, tenants were offered an alternative, same with the Chervishevsky market, but now they are sent nowhere. The Europa shopping center was demolished nearby, and now there is a vacant lot with weeds and strange cars. That is what will happen here,» said Alexander Shestakov, deputy market manager.
Additionally, Tyumen authorities recently completed the transfer of the Benat distillery to new owners.
