Zabaykalsky Krai remains among the leaders in the number of mortgage loans — per 1,000 economically active residents there were 19 loans over the year, placing it 16th among Russian regions. The data comes from RIA Rating.
The growth in the number of mortgage loans in Zabaykalsky is one of the most significant in the country — the increase over 5 months was 45.8% compared to the same period in 2025.
The average housing loan in the region is 5 million rubles ($55,600 at current rates). At the same time, overdue debt does not exceed 0.59%.
At the top of the ranking is Tuva, although there the number of mortgages issued decreased by 17.7% over the year. In second place is Yamal, where a record growth of 71.2% was recorded, and in third is Yakutia.
Also in the top five are Arkhangelsk Oblast and Buryatia. At the bottom of the ranking are the republics of the North Caucasus — Chechnya, Dagestan, Ingushetia. There is a high percentage of overdue debt, small loan amounts, and a low number of mortgages per 1,000 population.
