Famous Market in Tyumen to Be Demolished

In Tyumen, authorities plan to demolish the Yuzhny Market on Chaplyna Street. They recently informed the administration and tenants. We published a detailed article about what is happening at the market these days. We spoke with vendors and asked their opinion. The material can be read at this link. According to our interlocutors, the market will operate until April.
«— This [Yuzhny] market was the last one I had, and now they’re taking it away. People from the land department came the other day and said to clear everything out within two days. But how can that be done? I can find another job easily enough, but what about the vendors? When they demolished the Na Minskoy market, tenants were offered alternatives, same with the Chervishevsky market, but now they’re being sent nowhere. The Europa shopping center next door was demolished, and now there’s a vacant lot with weeds and random cars. The same will happen here,» Alexander Shestakov, deputy market manager, told us.
Earlier we reported that the Tyumen authorities have finally gotten rid of the Benat alcohol plant. It has been transferred to new owners.
