Special envoy of U.S. leader Donald Trump, Stephen Witkoff, and entrepreneur Jared Kushner have arrived at the Kremlin for negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The meeting between representatives of the United States and the head of the Russian Federation is taking place behind closed doors, without press representatives. However, it is already known what issues they plan to discuss today.

The meeting includes discussions on Ukraine peace plans and the use of frozen Russian assets.

The Kremlin reported that the meeting has already begun. On the Russian side, Presidential Assistant Yuri Ushakov and Putin«s special representative Kirill Dmitriev are also participating.

Along with Witkoff and Kushner, U.S. General Services Administration Federal Acquisition Service Commissioner Josh Grünbaum has arrived in Russia for negotiations for the first time.

The Federal Acquisition Service is responsible for all government orders, with billions of dollars in contracts passing through it. This likely indicates that the U.S. is discussing not only politics but also possible economic and technological issues.

As previously stated by Stephen Witkoff, the main topic will be a peace plan for settling the conflict in Ukraine. Vladimir Putin was provided with the text of the agreement in advance so that Russian authorities could review it and make their adjustments.

Also, the Russian president plans to discuss with U.S. representatives the use of frozen Russian assets. As previously reported by Putin, Russia is ready to provide $1 billion from these funds to the «Peace Council,» created by Trump, to support residents of Palestine.

Peskov emphasized that the Kremlin will not comment on the stage of negotiations with the U.S. Following the meeting, Russian Presidential Assistant Yuri Ushakov will hold a telephone briefing for journalists.
