Trump: Canada Could Become the 51st US State

US President Donald Trump spoke on January 30 at a press-closed event organized by the Alfalfa Club in Washington. His speech was humorous and contained a number of unexpected statements.
In particular, Trump joked about a possible invasion of Greenland, but immediately corrected himself: «We are not going to invade Greenland. We will buy it.»
«I never had any intention of turning Greenland into the 51st state. I wanted to make Canada the 51st state. Greenland will be the 52nd state. Venezuela could be the 53rd,» the American leader added.
At the same time, he specifically noted that his words should not be taken seriously.
Also in a joking manner, Trump mentioned his candidate for chairman of the Federal Reserve Board, Kevin Warsh. «If he doesn»t lower the base interest rate, I will sue him,« the president promised.
Addressing the gathered entrepreneurs and civil servants, Trump noted: «There are so many people here that I hate. Most of you I like.»
