Trump announces US armada moving toward Iran
US President Donald Trump stated that «another beautiful armada» of American ships is moving towards Iran. He called on Tehran to sign a deal with Washington, reminding of the White House«s order to attack the Islamic Republic in the summer of 2025.
«I really hope they make a deal. They should have made it the first time,» Trump said during a speech in Iowa. His speech was broadcast by ABC News.
Earlier, on Monday, the American leader spoke about the uncertainty of the situation regarding Iran but did not disclose specific plans. The publication Axios, citing administration sources, reported that Trump allows for the possibility of a military strike, despite the fact that protests in the country have already been «mostly suppressed.»
Last week, the command of the US Armed Forces confirmed the arrival of the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln in its area of responsibility in the Indian Ocean.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in turn, threatened Iran with serious consequences in the event of an attack on Israel. «We have dealt a serious blow to Iran and its terrorist proxies. <…> If Iran makes a serious mistake and attacks Israel, we will respond with a force that Iran has never seen,» he stated at a press conference.
