SVO Hero from Transbaikal to Run for State Duma

Hero of Russia from Zabaikalsky Krai, a participant in the special military operation, Lieutenant Colonel Dashibal Munkhozhargalov has become the main contender for a deputy mandate in the State Duma from the United Russia branch in the Republic of Buryatia, reported on January 23 by MK in Buryatia.

Lieutenant Colonel Munkhozhargalov will run in a single-mandate electoral district. The military man«s candidacy, as noted, was discussed last year, but the final decision was made only after all necessary approvals.

Dashibal Munkhozhargalov is a 33-year-old native of the village of Tsagan-Ol in the Mogoytuy district of Zabaikalsky Krai. He is a silver medalist of the Russian championship, a Master of Sports of Russia in army hand-to-hand combat, and graduated from the Novosibirsk Higher Military Command School. He served in the 11th Separate Assault Airborne Brigade, which is stationed in Buryatia. He participated in the special military operation from its very beginning. Previously, he was awarded three Orders of Courage and the Medal of the Order «For Merit to the Fatherland» II degree. Russian President Vladimir Putin presented him with the Gold Star of the Hero of Russia in December 2023. Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia Anna Tsivileva in Moscow presented the Transbaikal resident Tsyrendorzhii Munkhozhargalov with the «Father of a Soldier» medal — for raising a Hero of Russia.

The officer«s former teacher told Chita.Ru that Dashibal always had an iron will, he was passionate about sports, and graduated from school with a silver medal.

Elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation of the IX convocation will be held on the Unified Voting Day, September 18–20, 2026.
