Program of Russia-Kazakhstan Forum in Omsk Published

The program for the 12th Russia-Kazakhstan Interregional Cooperation Forum in Omsk on July 24-25 includes business sessions, cultural events, and an MMA tournament.

The program for the 12th Forum for Interregional Cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan has been published on the event«s website. The forum will take place in Omsk on July 24 and 25.

Currently, the list of business events scheduled for Friday, July 24, is described in more detail. At the «Russia — My History» park, an exhibition dedicated to the development of transport infrastructure will be open throughout the day.

The remaining events of the first day will take place at the Congress Hall. On the first floor, there will be a zone for signing bilateral documents, while on the third floor, three panel sessions will be held. The discussion topics are as follows:

«International cooperation: development of transport corridor infrastructure, key infrastructure projects, and prospects for implementing projects to develop water routes»;

«The Irtysh River: environmental partnership and joint environmental protection measures»;

«Industrial cooperation as a factor in the sustainable development of Russia and Kazakhstan.»

On the fourth floor, there will be a business-to-business (B2B) exchange. An expanded meeting of the Russia-Kazakhstan Business Council will also be held there. The holding of the Russia-Kazakhstan Youth Forum is still being clarified.

Little is known so far about the business program on the second day. It is expected that on Saturday, July 25, the fourth floor of the Congress Hall will host a plenary session of the Forum and the Intergovernmental Commission on Cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan.

As for the cultural program for guests, it includes two major evening events: a concert by the band IOWA at the amusement park «Around the World» on July 24, and the 14th professional mixed martial arts tournament of the Shlemenko Fighting Championship promotion at the G-Drive Arena on July 25.

It should also be noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a meeting with Omsk Region Governor Vitaly Khotsenko, discussed a possible visit to Omsk. Putin stated that he would discuss with Kassym-Jomart Tokayev the possibility of attending the forum in person.

The last time Omsk hosted the Russia-Kazakhstan forum was in the fall of 2019.
