Orenburg Appoints New Deputy Head and Social Policy Chief

The Orenburg city administration has announced two new appointments.

According to available information, Sergei Vasilyev has been appointed deputy head of the city for public security and interaction with law enforcement agencies.

He assumed his duties on February 3. This is a new position in the structure: Vasilyev will oversee the Department for Public Security, and will also work with the Department for Informatics and Communications, the Department for Legal Affairs, and law enforcement agencies.

Igor Chistyakov has also been appointed head of the Department for Social Policy. He took up his new post a day earlier — on February 2.

Recall that after Albert Yumadilov was officially elected head of Orenburg, reshuffles took place in the administration structure.

In addition to Vyacheslav Obyedkov retaining his post as first deputy head of the city, and former deputy head of the regional Interior Ministry Ruslan Magomedov being appointed deputy head of Orenburg — head of the administration staff (replacing Nadezhda Chuklova), the following remained in their positions: Deputy Head for Economy and Finance Dmitry Musin and Deputy Head for Urban Development, Land Issues and Road Infrastructure Vladimir Girin; Rustam Gataullin, who came from Moscow, shed his «acting» prefix and became head of the Southern District; and Oleg Kuleshov, who once headed the press service of the FSB Directorate for Orenburg Region, was finally appointed adviser to the head of Orenburg.

Anna Gorelikova, who was deputy head of the city for social affairs (with changes in functions), has been appointed head of the Youth Policy Department. Additionally, the position of deputy head of Orenburg — head of the Department of Architecture and Comprehensive Urban Development — chief architect has been eliminated from the administration structure. Since the beginning of February 2025, this post had been held by Gulnara Munasipova.
