On January 22, Chapayevsk got a new mayor. He was chosen by a competition commission chaired by the speaker of the Samara Regional Duma, Gennady Kotelnikov. All candidates presented their programs and proposals for the city«s development. The best option, in the opinion of the commission members, was demonstrated by Alexander Krasnov.

«The deputies of the Chapayevsk City Duma unanimously supported his candidacy. Alexander Sergeyevich was born in Chapayevsk, he knows the city»s problems well and sets realistic tasks to solve them,« Kotelnikov noted, congratulating the newly elected mayor.

Since November 27, 2025, Alexander Krasnov has held the position of acting head of the Chapayevsk urban district.
