In the comments, subscribers reminded him that Vereshchagin had promised to change his Moscow registration to a Krasnoyarsk one.
«I am a resident of Krasnoyarsk. Now also by registration. In January, I completed all the necessary documents,» Sergey Vereshchagin replied to users.
A source at the mayor«s office confirmed to NGS24.RU that Vereshchagin himself wrote the message.
The Krasnoyarsk mayor«s Moscow registration became known on the day of his election, December 23. According to NGS24.RU, Vereshchagin listed an apartment on Vernadsky Avenue in Moscow as his registration address.
According to his biography, Sergey Vereshchagin lived in Moscow from 2010 to 2017 — he worked as deputy minister of regional development of the Russian Federation, headed the state corporation «Resorts of the North Caucasus», and also was a founder of the Moscow restaurant company «Discovery». He returned to Krasnoyarsk in 2018, becoming minister of economic development, then prime minister of the region, and in December 2025 — mayor.
At his inauguration on December 25, Vereshchagin confirmed to journalists that he was registered in Moscow, adding that he «wasn»t bothered« about it and intended to register in the city in January.
«I don»t understand why the hype around this. It seems to me that it«s not forbidden to have a registration where you don»t actually live. Moreover, it doesn«t prevent a person from fulfilling his duties and doing them at a fairly high level. I really have a Moscow registration, I never, excuse my Russian, worried about it. We had practical issues in Krasnoyarsk. We recently moved to another home,» the mayor explained.
