Kneissl: Ukraine and Greenland are 'different dossiers'

Kneissl frequently posts about her life in the Ryazan region on social media.
Former Austrian minister Karin Kneissl, living near Kasimov in Ryazan Oblast, said that Greenland could soon become a new US state, but it won«t affect the Ukrainian problem. Kneissl stated this in an interview with TASS.
She does not rule out that US President Donald Trump might buy Greenland or enter into a treaty with it.
«In the US Congress, as I understand, a bill was introduced — I haven»t seen it, only read about it — according to which they want to «include» Greenland in the US as the 51st state. In 2018, Trump said he wanted to buy Greenland. Then, after returning to the presidency, he said he wanted to conquer it. Now, perhaps, it«s about concluding a treaty so close that Greenland de facto becomes the 51st state of the US,» she said.
According to Kneissl, over the last 10–15 years, everyone has realized that the new Klondike is in the North. This territory is so important to Trump that he won«t simply give it up.
However, Greenland will not become a bargaining chip in the context of the Ukrainian question. In Karin Kneissl«s opinion, these are still different dossiers.
«But the Ukrainian topic still seems extremely difficult and tragic to me. Let»s say, «dossier» — isn«t quite the right word here. I would call it a tragedy,» Kneissl concluded.
