After the New Year holidays, demand for taxi services in Yekaterinburg traditionally decreases, which affects drivers« earnings. Taxi driver Alisher, working in the »Premier« tariff, confirmed this trend.

From January to April, income falls in all tariffs. This is a normal seasonal factor — after the New Year, people try to save money. On average per shift, income varies from five to seven thousand rubles (approximately $50 to $70 at current rates) net. This is if you work solidly for 12 hours,
explained Alisher.

He added that in the premium segment, they complete about 20 trips per day, and in the economy tariff — 40 or more. The busiest days are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

The largest tip of 8,600 rubles (approximately $86 at current rates) the driver received from a Moscow guest. The client wanted to see the city«s sights and offered 1,500 rubles (approximately $15 at current rates) per hour for such a tour. However, the trip was disrupted due to traffic on Koltsovsky Tract, where the car stood for 40 minutes. Without reaching any point on the route, the passenger got tired and asked to be returned to the hotel. He paid the agreed amount and additionally handed over cash.

I counted — there was 8,600 rubles,
recalled Alisher.
