Plumber and Electrician Service Costs in Moscow for 2026

Recently, a post went viral on social networks from a girl who tried to call a plumber to her home, but he replied that he would be busy until April. Indeed, the demand for household technicians is currently very high, as are the prices for their services. This article will discuss the latter. We will figure out how much a house call by a master—a plumber or electrician—will cost in 2026, whether to expect price increases, and which services are the most in-demand.

Prices for Household Technician Services in 2026

Let«s start with a price overview. A correspondent from MSK1.RU analyzed advertisements on specialized websites where masters offer their services. The prices are relevant for major cities. Materials (pipes for replacement, faucets, etc.) are paid for separately.

Electrician
In the case of electricians, the factors affecting the price are the same: time and labor. Here, the minimum fee for a call is 3,000–3,500 rubles ($33–$39 at current rates).

Will Prices Rise?
A correspondent from MSK1.RU spoke with Vitaly K., who has been working as a plumber in eastern Moscow for over 10 years, taking private orders of any complexity.
«On average, I charge about 3,500–4,000 rubles ($39–$44 at current rates) for a house call,» shares Vitaly. «On average, this means that most tasks are not too expensive: a leak, a clog, light installation, work with meters. But some house calls are very labor-intensive and, accordingly, well paid.»
When asked if the younger generation really uses the services of household technicians more often, Vitaly answered that, in his observations, this is indeed the case.
«Young people are increasingly less knowledgeable about even the simplest home systems: how the toilet tank drain works, how a faucet is built,» reflects Vitaly. «But, apparently, since they can afford to call a master even for such simple tasks, they don»t particularly need to understand.«
We learned about prices for electricians« services from Kristina: the girl recently started renovations in an inherited apartment and has called masters for electrical installation and other work more than once.
«In a two-room apartment, I needed to change all the sockets, repair a chandelier in which several shades were not working, and find out why, when one of the stove burners is turned on, the circuit breaker trips every time,» lists Kristina. «Over the last couple of months, I have changed two masters and in total spent about 18,000 rubles ($200 at current rates) on all the work.»
According to the girl, in January, the master she had worked with before stated that he would take a larger sum for the order than they had agreed upon at the end of last year.
«I managed to convince him to lower the price, because we had agreed back in December, but he said that, had it not been for that agreement, I would have had to pay 2,000 rubles ($22 at current rates) more. Just because »that«s how it is now».«
