Woman Stalked Ex-Husband, Sent to Court
In St. Petersburg, a 49-year-old woman organized illegal surveillance of her ex-husband by hiring a detective and installing a GPS tracker. The prosecutor's office has sent the case to court.

The St. Petersburg prosecutor«s office on 21 July sent to court a criminal case on violation of privacy. The charge was brought against a 49-year-old resident of the Petrogradsky District.
According to the investigation, from July to September last year, the woman tracked her ex-husband. To do this, she hired a private detective who installed a GPS tracker under the rear bumper of the victim«s car. The device transmitted movement coordinates in real time.
In addition to movements, conversations inside the car were recorded. Photos of the ex-husband from meetings were sent to third parties and published in stories with comments.
«The accused did this without the consent of the persons depicted in the photographs, and this information constituted the victim«s personal secret,» the agency noted.
According to the investigation, the motives of the accused were jealousy and revenge. The case was opened under Part 1 of Article 137 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which is classified as a minor crime. The maximum punishment is two years of imprisonment.
