Woman assaulted by refrigerator repairman in Volgograd

In the Krasnoarmeysky district of Volgograd, a conflict occurred between a refrigerator repairman and the woman who called him. According to her, instead of making the necessary repairs, the man began breaking the appliance, and when he saw that she was recording him, he knocked the phone out of her hands and got into a fight with her. All this happened in front of her 12-year-old son.

As Anna told V1.RU, her refrigerator recently broke down, and she asked a friend to find a repairman. The specialist who was found promised that for just 300 rubles ($3 at current rates), the job would be done.

«That man called me back himself, said he would come in an hour and a half,» Anna recalls the events of last evening. «An hour and a half later he calls and says he was delayed in the region, would only be free by 10 p.m., that it would be inconvenient. He promised to come the next day at 9 a.m., do a quick diagnostic. And, if necessary, give me a ride to work in the city center, since I could be late.»

However, already on the morning of July 21, strange things began: instead of the already familiar voice, the woman heard a different man on the same phone number.

«He says: «You weren»t talking to me at all. Probably with my partner.« They start passing the phones, I ask: »Guys, are you scammers?« In the end, it»s not the person I spoke with yesterday nor the one I spoke with in the morning who calls me. I start to suspect them, but he says: «Don»t worry, I«m just in Krasnoarmeysky right now, it»s closer for me to come to you.«»

As a result of the negotiations, it was the last repairman, the one who spoke with her, who came to Anna«s apartment, where she was with her 12-year-old son.

«He takes everything out of the refrigerator, and I realize he«s just starting to break it. He doesn»t even know how to remove the back panel! I say: «What are you doing?» — «And what are you interfering for?» I went for my phone, said I would record him on video. I didn«t even have time to open the camera before he pushes me against the wall, I fly away, he snatches the phone from my hands and throws it into the hallway. And all this while my minor child is in the apartment!»

After that, according to Anna, the man began packing his tool case and tried to leave the apartment.

«I slam the door shut, lock it, say I won«t let him out, and we literally start fighting. He says to me: »What, are you crazy, have you completely lost your mind?« He hits me on the arm, leg, breaks out of the apartment, I fall onto the landing, and he runs away. Do you think that»s acceptable? To come into someone«s apartment, push and grab them by the arms, beat a woman? I have a bruise on my arm. This is lawlessness! He completely wrecked my refrigerator too. I would have been better off buying a new one…»

In a conversation with a V1.RU correspondent, Anna said she intends to contact the police. The editorial board is inquiring with the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Volgograd Region (GU MVD) whether the woman«s complaint has been received and whether any procedural decision has been made.
