Widow of murdered Zavyalovsky district head gets 1.5 million rubles

A court in Surgut has ordered the district administration to pay 1.5 million rubles in moral damages to the widow of the slain head of Zavyalovsky district, who initially sought 10 million rubles.

On 21 January, a court in Surgut heard a civil case on moral damages compensation for the murder of the head of Zavyalovsky district, Nikolai Onishchenko, according to the Telegram channel «Courts of Yugra».

The widow filed the lawsuit against the district administration on behalf of her minor child. She justified her claim by stating that on 4 March 2025, her husband sustained fatal injuries while at his workplace.

The woman asked the court to recover moral damages compensation from the administration in the amount of 10 million rubles (approximately $100,000 at current rates).

The judge partially satisfied the widow«s demands and ordered the payment of 1.5 million rubles (approximately $15,000 at current rates) to her.

Recall that in early March 2025, the head of Zavyalovsky district, Nikolai Onishchenko, was shot dead by his former subordinate Anatoly Fenin. After the murder, the man decided to take his own life — he died in intensive care several days later.
