Residents of Atamanovka faced a water outage in the settlement on the morning of 5 February. As the head of the settlement, Larisa Zimina, explained to a correspondent of Chita.Ru, this was due to a massive overnight power outage.
Residents began complaining about the lack of water in local chat groups. According to the head, the situation has now normalized in most homes.
«The power flickered at night, that»s probably why the water pumping station stopped. The municipal enterprise «ZhKKh» (Housing and Communal Services) immediately went out and turned on the pump. At 07:00 the pump was turned on, but the water has to fill our large tanks. So, of course, in some houses, maybe on the upper floors, there is still no water,« said Larisa Zimina.
On the night of 5 February, from around 00:15, a significant part of Chita was left without electricity. The outages affected the area from the city center to the gardening cooperatives (SNT) beyond Smolenka and Ugdan. Some residents also reported a drop in temperature in their heating radiators.
As Andrei Chebykin, director of the Chita Generation branch of PJSC TGC-14 (Territorial Generating Company No. 14), told Chita.Ru, an emergency situation occurred at CHPP-1, as a result of which some consumers were cut off. According to him, emergency crews have already begun work. According to preliminary data from the Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM), the accident was caused by a cable overload at the turbogenerator.
At night, the governor of Zabaykalsky Krai, Alexander Osipov, held an emergency meeting with the management of the Chita TETs-1 and sent Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Goncharov and First Vice-Governor of the region Alexander Kostenko to the site.
