Ukraine attacks Russia with drones and missiles

In the night of July 21, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) struck several regions of Russia with drones and missiles. The attack did not pass without consequences. One drone flew into an apartment, and a fire also broke out. We present all the official information.

In the Vladimir region, a drone hit an apartment in a multi-story building. Governor Alexander Avdeev provided details: «In Vladimir, a drone flew into an apartment of a multi-story building. There were no residents there. According to preliminary data, there are no casualties. Emergency services are working at the scene. Evacuation is underway. The fire caused by the drone impact has been contained over an area of about 25 sq m, the open flame has been extinguished,» Avdeev reported.

In the Belgorod region, the AFU launched missile strikes on Belgorod and the district. The regional operational headquarters reported that, according to preliminary information, there are no casualties; operational and emergency services are clarifying the consequences.

In the Kaluga region, air defense destroyed two drones in the morning. Governor Vladislav Shapsha reported this. No casualties or destruction were found as a result of the attack: «In the morning, air defense forces destroyed 2 drones over the territories of Kozelsk and Sukhinichi municipal districts. Operational groups are working on the sites. According to preliminary information, there are no casualties or infrastructure destruction,» he wrote on his Telegram channel.

In the Rostov region, several districts suffered during the repulsion of the attack. Governor Yuri Slyusar reported that drones and missiles were destroyed in Rostov-on-Don and four districts — Konstantinovsky, Oblivsky, Bokovsky, and Sovetsky. «In the Milutinsky district, as a result of falling drone debris, a forest fire occurred. No casualties. No threat to populated areas,» Slyusar wrote.

In the Voronezh region, one drone was shot down over the regional capital overnight. Governor Alexander Gusev confirmed that there are no casualties or destruction.

In Sevastopol, the military repelled a drone attack. Two drones were shot down near the North side, no casualties, reported Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev.

Missile danger was announced in the Kursk region and Stavropol. Details on consequences have not yet been received.

According to the Ministry of Defense, air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 209 Ukrainian drones overnight. They were shot down over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kursk, Rostov, Ryazan regions, the Moscow region, Krasnodar and Stavropol territories, Crimea, as well as over the waters of the Azov and Black Seas.

Updated at 09:40 MSK: Over the past 24 hours, the AFU attacked the Belgorod region 153 times, nine civilians were killed, and another 77 were injured. This was reported by acting Governor Alexander Shuvaev: «Yesterday was extremely difficult, unprecedented in the number of deaths and injuries from enemy AFU attacks. In Belgorod, Belgorod and Shebekino districts, eight civilians were killed, including a child,» Shuvaev wrote. He clarified that later the identity of a man who died on July 19 was established, so the total number of victims for yesterday reached nine. In addition, a woman died in the hospital who was seriously wounded in a drone attack on July 11 in the Belgorod district.

In the Kursk region, 149 drones of various types were shot down. Artillery was used 101 times on resettled areas. Drones attacked the territory 27 times using explosive devices.
