Ugdan Plots Flooded: Rain or Stream Unknown
Residents of Ugdan village in Chita District say that water entered their plots overnight, but where it came from is not exactly clear. Local residents reported this to Chita.Ru.
Head of Chita District Viktor Mashukov said that there is no official information about flooding of plots in Ugdan. The peak of the flood in the village was on 12–13 July and passed without consequences. Water levels there actually dropped by 16 centimeters compared to the previous day.
At the same time, he did not rule out that after the previous day«s rains, local flooding from rainwater could have occurred, but according to him, if there was any, it was minor.
Local residents, however, believe that it was the Zhireyka stream that overflowed, but at the same time note that there was heavy rain yesterday.
The press service of the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) reported that there is no information about flooding.
The press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources redirected the question to the district administration.
The water level in the Chita River on 16 July reached a maximum mark of 311 centimeters and began to decline.
