Two Women Charged for Stealing Six Backpacks of Sweets

In Apatity, a store employee contacted the police — a shortage of goods worth over 4,500 rubles ($47) was discovered at the retail outlet. Law enforcement officers reviewed surveillance footage and quickly identified the thieves — women from the North born in 1994 and 1999.
During questioning, the women said they stole six gift backpacks filled with sweets from the counter. Then they went to the promotional goods shelf and took several pairs of glasses. At the self-checkout counters, they only paid for the glasses and then left the store.
A criminal case was opened on charges of crimes under Part 2 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, «Theft committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy.» The women face up to five years in prison.
Recall, a resident of Severomorsk broke into a store at night, attempted to break an ATM, and stole over 90,000 rubles ($950) from the cash register.
