Two Ladas Crash in Samara Oblast, One Dead
A head-on collision between a Lada Kalina and a Lada Vesta on the Samara-Buguruslan highway left one woman dead and another driver injured.

The head-on collision between two Lada cars occurred in Kinelsky District.

On the morning of Thursday, 5 February, a fatal traffic accident occurred in Samara Oblast. The crash took place in Kinelsky District near Turgenyevka railway station.

Two Russian-made cars, a Lada Kalina and a Lada Vesta, collided on the highway.

“On the Samara-Buguruslan highway at 07:23, a head-on collision occurred between a Lada Kalina and a Lada Vesta. Unfortunately, the driver of the Lada Kalina — a woman born in 1972 — died. The driver of the Lada Vesta was hospitalized. Emergency medical workers, traffic police officers, and a duty crew from Fire and Rescue Unit No. 14 of Fire and Rescue Detachment No. 34 worked at the scene,” said the Center for Civil Defense, Emergency Management and Fire Safety in Samara Oblast.

One of the drivers had to be extracted from the vehicle using special equipment.

Several days earlier, a similar tragedy occurred on the same highway. Within the boundaries of Otradny, a 42-year-old Ford driver crossed into oncoming traffic in a permitted area and collided with a VAZ-2110 driven by a man born in 1974. The Ford driver died in the head-on collision. Three people from the Russian-made car were taken from the scene to the hospital.
