The Zarechensky District Prosecutor«s Office of Tula has launched a probe following reports of a family»s death in a fire that occurred on the night of February 5 in an apartment building on Oktyabrskaya Street. This was reported by the press service of the Tula Regional Prosecutor«s Office.
«In connection with the death of an 11-year-old child and her mother as a result of a fire in an apartment in a multi-apartment building on Oktyabrskaya Street in Tula, the Zarechensky District Prosecutor«s Office of Tula has organized an investigation. The prosecutor»s office also oversees the progress and results of the criminal investigation opened under Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation,» the agency said.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM), firefighters arrived at the scene eight minutes after receiving the fire report. They were unable to save the 40-year-old woman and the child.
A fire investigator is also examining the causes of the incident.
