Tourist died of heart failure, not fall

The body of the deceased was evacuated by rescuers.
The cause of death has been established for a tourist from Nizhny Tagil who died in Kabardino-Balkaria. The woman fell from a height of 40 meters while visiting Sultan Waterfall. However, she did not die from the fall — the cause of death was acute heart failure. The 44-year-old tourist felt unwell before falling.
«The death is not criminal; the woman was part of a tourist group, so her identity was established immediately. The transportation of the body is being handled by relatives,» the Investigative Committee of Kabardino-Balkaria told E1.RU.
Earlier, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that six rescuers responded to the incident. After the fall into the gorge, eyewitnesses and medics tried to save the woman. As a result, the body of the 44-year-old victim was evacuated from the gorge and handed over to the investigative-operational group of law enforcement agencies.
The E1.RU editorial team extends its condolences to the family of the deceased.
Earlier, on Elbrus, a father and son fell during an ascent of the eastern summit. According to law enforcement, the family hailed from Donetsk; in recent years, the father and son lived in Stavropol Krai.
