Toddler Falls from Window, Mother Distracted

A one-year-old girl fell from a second-floor window in Nakhodka. She is believed to have climbed onto the windowsill from a sofa and leaned on a mosquito net, the press service of the Primorsky Krai Police Department reported.

Police established that the girl«s mother was doing household chores and heard the cry of her older children. They ran to her and said that the younger daughter had fallen out of the window. The woman went outside and saw the girl on an outdoor clothesline, which softened the fall.

The girl was taken to the Central City Hospital. She escaped serious consequences and was sent for outpatient treatment, but the emergency room doctor reported the incident to the police.

Inspectors from the juvenile affairs department are conducting an investigation.

Previously, we reported that a two-year-old boy fell from a fifth-floor window in Ussuriysk. Having sustained life-threatening injuries, the child died in the hospital, the Primorsky Krai Ministry of Health reported on 13 July.

An investigation was organized by the prosecutor«s office. According to the supervisory authority, the tragedy occurred on Korolenko Street. The toddler climbed onto the windowsill, leaned on a mosquito net and fell out.
