The Investigative Committee of Russia«s Samara Oblast branch has launched a check into an incident at a private school in Samara. The mother of a student stated that a teacher hit her son in the face during a lesson where children were taught to communicate without fighting. The child was subsequently expelled from the school. This is reported by KP-Samara.
According to the woman, she enrolled her son in the private school two years ago. The boy had health problems, and doctors recommended a soft environment and an individualized approach.
The incident occurred on 20 April during a «soft school» lesson (a pedagogical approach emphasizing non-violent communication). Children were taught to resolve disputes without fighting. The class combined first and second grades. Two boys began to conflict. The teacher, according to the mother, stood up and hit the child in the face, then put him in a corner, explaining that «she was provoked.» Later, school representatives confirmed that the child was indeed hit by the teacher.
The mother of the victim initiated proceedings. In response, according to her, the boy was expelled from the school. He was told that he was too conflict-prone. After the incident, the child cried and complained of pain. He had to go to the hospital.
Pavel Oleynik, head of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Samara Oblast, ordered a pre-investigation check. All circumstances of the incident are now being established.
