Teacher hits child in class at private school in Samara

The Investigative Committee has launched a probe into an incident at a private school in Samara. The mother of a student claimed that a teacher hit her son in the face during a lesson where children were taught how to resolve conflicts without fighting. The child was subsequently expelled from the school. This was reported by KP-Samara.

According to the woman, she enrolled her son in the private school two years ago. The boy had health problems, and doctors recommended a gentle environment and an individualized approach.

The incident occurred on 20 April during a lesson called “soft school” (a method for teaching non‑violent communication). Children were taught to resolve disputes without fighting. The lesson combined first and second grades. Two boys started to argue. The teacher, according to the mother, stood up, hit the child in the face, and then put him in the corner, explaining that “he provoked her.” Later, school representatives confirmed that the teacher did hit the child.

The victim’s mother initiated proceedings. In response, she said, the boy was expelled from the school. He was told he was too conflict‑prone. After the incident, the child cried and complained of pain. He had to be taken to the hospital.

Pavel Oleynik, head of the Investigative Committee for the Samara Region, ordered a pre‑investigation check. All circumstances of the incident are now being established.

“On the instructions of the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Samara Region, Pavel Oleynik, a pre‑investigation check has been organized into this incident. All circumstances of what happened are currently being established,” the Investigative Committee for the Samara Region reported.
