Teacher Fends Off Knife-Wielding Intruder at Kindergarten
An incident occurred in Buguruslan, Orenburg region: a man with a knife broke into a preschool institution.
As city head Dmitry Dyachenko said, the attacker broke the door, but teacher Liya Galeeva stood in his way. Despite the panic button already being activated, the woman managed to hold the intruder until emergency services arrived — a tragedy was averted.
«I thank everyone for their quick reaction and mutual assistance. The situation is under control. All emergency response services worked together smoothly,» wrote Dyachenko in his Telegram channel.
It should be noted that law enforcement agencies have not yet commented on the incident, and the government press service stated that Governor Yevgeny Solntsev has taken the situation under personal control.
According to information from open sources, 41-year-old Liya Galeeva works at MBDOU (Municipal Budgetary Preschool Educational Institution) «Kindergarten of Supervision and Health Improvement No. 1» in Buguruslan. As soon as any additional information becomes known, we will publish it separately.
