In the Tambov region, tank cars of a freight train carrying gasoline derailed and exploded, starting a fire. As a result, passenger trains on the southern route are delayed, Russian Railways (RZD) press service warned. Most of these trains travel through Rostov.
Among the trains passing through Rostov that are delayed are No. 3 Kislovodsk–Moscow, No. 27 Simferopol–Moscow, No. 35 Adler–Saint Petersburg, No. 37 Imeretinsky Resort–Nizhny Novgorod, No. 101 Adler–Moscow, No. 139 Kislovodsk–Arkhangelsk, and No. 266 Moscow–Novorossiysk.
«We are considering running trains along an alternative route bypassing the obstacle. Train crews are providing comprehensive assistance to passengers. A comfortable temperature is maintained in the carriages,» Russian Railways said.
