Tambov train derailment leaves passengers without hot water
A derailment of fuel tank cars near Tambov caused train delays. Passengers on Volgograd-Moscow trains complain of no hot water and a ban on leaving the carriages.

As a result of a derailment of tank cars carrying gasoline and gas at Kochetovka-2 station in Tambov Oblast on the evening of February 4, train traffic was disrupted. The incident caused a fire that was contained six hours later, but complete cleanup has not yet been completed.
Because of this, several trains have been delayed, including the Volgograd-Moscow train. Passengers of train No. 15 report that the train is stopped near Michurinsk (a town in Tambov Oblast, Russia), and the delay is already about three hours.
«We are traveling to Moscow on the »Volgograd-Moscow« train, No. 15. We left yesterday at 17:13,» write the Volgograd residents. «Now we are stopped near Michurinsk, the delay is already three hours. They are not letting us off the train.»
The carriages maintain a comfortable temperature of about 22°C (72°F) and there is drinking water. However, passengers’ plans, based on scheduled arrival, have been disrupted.
Also delayed is the branded train No. 1, which has been stopped near Michurinsk since 3 a.m. The estimated delay exceeds five hours.
«We have been stopped near Michurinsk since 3 a.m.,» report the passengers of the train. «According to the schedule, arrival in Moscow is at 9:30, but the delay is already more than five hours. Even if we start moving now, we will arrive with a significant delay.»
According to the travelers, hot water has run out in the carriages, but the conductors have provided passengers with half-liter bottles of mineral water. The toilets are functioning normally.
