A Sverdlovsk serviceman, who died in the car of lawyer Pyotr Portnyagin, passed away due to a detached blood clot. Portnyagin himself reported this to E1.RU.

The incident occurred on 1 July in Chebarkul, Chelyabinsk Oblast. The soldier had signed an agreement with Pyotr Portnyagin. Together they were heading to Yekaterinburg so the serviceman could be admitted to a hospital. Just 15 minutes after leaving the military unit, the man suddenly fell ill.

“We tried to save him but couldn’t. We called an ambulance and law enforcement. Preliminarily, death was caused by a detached blood clot. I extend my sincere condolences to the soldier’s family,” Pyotr Portnyagin told E1.RU.

It is known that in the army, the serviceman was a fuel truck driver. He was buried in his homeland on 4 July.

“His commander is still in shock over what happened. He saw him off, and just half an hour later learned of his death. The family is also in shock. I was interrogated for 1.5 hours at the Investigative Committee. Before his death, the soldier recorded a video in which he spoke about his service, and then this happened,” added the lawyer from Yekaterinburg.

We have contacted the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Central Military District for comment. A response will be published as soon as it is received.

The E1.RU editorial team extends its sincere condolences to the family of the deceased soldier.
