Sochi Lifts Drone Threat Alert

A drone threat alert in Sochi was canceled after an hour and a half, allowing the airport, gas stations, and municipal offices to reopen.

The threat of a drone attack persisted for over an hour and a half. It was declared at 8:50 a.m. and canceled at 10:28 a.m. The mayor of Sochi announced the cancellation of the threat.

Throughout that time, the resort«s gas stations were closed.

«I couldn«t fill up. All the gas stations along my route were closed. I arrived at work with the warning light on. Don»t do as I did. Always fill up in advance. These are the times we live in,» writes our reader.

«Commercial gas stations are open, and they«re quietly selling gasoline at exorbitant prices,» writes another reader.

During the attack, the water utility office, the MFC (Multifunctional Center), and other institutions were closed.

Rosaviatsiya (Federal Air Transport Agency) reported the reopening of Sochi Airport. Twenty-five departures are delayed. Airlines will notify their passengers of changes to departure times. The airport has resumed servicing flights.
