Sirens Wake Voronezh After Rocket Strike on Belgorod

Sirens in Voronezh went off at 4 a.m. on July 21. The regional directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) reported that at 03:58 the threat of UAV attacks was declared again in the region, and in the capital of the Black Earth Region — the threat of a direct drone strike.

The threat of attacks in the region had already been declared at 00:36, a minute before a strike threat was announced in Borisoglebsk. However, soon an alert from the Ministry of Emergency Situations arrived at MAKS stating that at 00:45 the active phase of air defense work was completed, the sky over Borisoglebsk was clear, and the drone threat was canceled in the Voronezh Region.

In many other regions, shortly before the sirens were turned on in Voronezh, an alert was declared due to missile shelling — in Lipetsk, Kursk, Kaluga, Ulyanovsk, Rostov, Volgograd, Oryol, Samara regions, and Stavropol Krai. And Belgorod and the Belgorod district once again came under a rocket strike — this was reported at three in the morning by the regional Operational Headquarters. Preliminary: no casualties, information about consequences is being clarified.

Updates. The threat of a UAV strike in Voronezh was canceled at 05:52. «The active phase of air defense work is complete, the sky is clear,» EMERCOM reported. At the same time, the threat of attacks across the region remains. In the morning, Governor Alexander Gusev spoke about the consequences of the air defense operation. In neighboring Lipetsk, after the missile threat, a large-scale fire broke out in an industrial zone — the fire blazes over thousands of square meters. In the Rostov Region, a forest fire started due to a drone attack. In Vladimir, a drone flew straight into an apartment.
