On 21 January, the roof and second floor of a shopping center on Naumova Street, 26, in the Pervomaysky District of Novosibirsk collapsed. People were trapped under the debris. Responding rescuers pulled three individuals from under the mangled structures and handed them over to paramedics. People were removed from the building using a bulldozer bucket. The preliminary cause of the roof collapse is an accumulation of snow.
