Roof collapses at school near Novosibirsk
Part of the roof collapsed at a secondary school in the village of Repyevo. No one was injured, and classes for 130 students have been canceled.

On 5 February, in the village of Repyevo, Toguchinsky district, Novosibirsk region, the rafter system of part of the roof of a new school building collapsed. There were no casualties, and the ceilings and walls were not damaged.
As reported by the regional Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MChS), the incident was registered at 9:20 a.m. local time. «Information was received about the collapse of the rafter system of part of the school building roof at the address: Repyevo village, Tsentralnaya Street, 5. The collapse area is about 100 square meters,» the official statement says.
Classes at the school have been canceled. The secondary school, which was put into operation in autumn 2025, educates 130 children.
According to the head of the Toguchinsky district, Sergei Pykhtin, the roof damage occurred during snow removal work carried out by workers hired by the educational institution. «We will make every effort to carry out the necessary repairs as quickly as possible and eliminate all consequences of the incident. The situation is under my personal control,» he assured in a social media post.
Against the backdrop of this incident, other serious incidents have been reported in Russian schools in recent days.
On the morning of 3 February, a ninth-grade student at Ufa Gymnasium No. 16 opened fire with a pneumatic rifle. According to the MVD, there were no serious injuries; one teacher sustained only scratches.
On the same day, at School No. 4 in the town of Kodinsk, Krasnoyarsk Krai, a seventh-grade girl brought a knife and tried to attack a chemistry teacher but was stopped by classmates. She then stabbed a girl from a parallel class. The victim was hospitalized, given medical aid, and released, while the attacker was placed in a temporary detention facility.
On 4 February, at Krasnoyarsk School No. 153, an eighth-grade girl threw a burning rag into a classroom and struck students several times with an object resembling a hammer. Six people were injured. The suspected attacker was detained.
Also on 4 February, seven cases of acute intestinal infection were registered at School No. 39 in the Nevsky district of St. Petersburg. Students were switched to distance learning, and the building was closed for disinfection.
