Roof collapses at school in Novosibirsk region
The school, which was commissioned in November 2025, suffered a roof collapse under the weight of snow.
In the village of Repyevo, Toguchinsky District, the roof of a school collapsed. Photos from the scene were published by the Telegram channel «ACT-54 Black». No one was injured in the incident.
«The roof of the new school in the village of Repyevo, Toguchinsky District, could not withstand the weight of snow,» the ACT-54 Black post said.
According to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) for Novosibirsk Oblast, the incident occurred at 09:20 on 5 February.
«Information was received about the collapse of the rafter system of part of the school building»s roof at 5 Tsentralnaya Street, Repyevo village. The collapse area is about 100 square meters,« the official statement said.
Ceilings and walls are undamaged, and there are no casualties.
A total of 130 children study at Repyevo Secondary School. Classes on 5 February were canceled.
The head of Toguchinsky District of Novosibirsk Oblast, Sergei Pykhtin, wrote on his VK page that the roof was damaged during snow removal work by workers hired by the educational institution.
«We will make every effort to carry out the necessary repairs as soon as possible and eliminate all consequences of the incident. The situation is under my personal control,» he assured.
Information that the school was put into operation appeared on the website of the regional government in November 2025. NGS has requested a comment from the regional Ministry of Education.
In December 2025, NGS reported that in the Novosibirsk village of Kolyvan, the roof and walls of a local sports school collapsed.
