Authorities in Rostov-on-Don have organized temporary access for residents to the entrance of an apartment building in the Levensovsky microdistrict, which was damaged by a drone strike.
People can only enter to retrieve documents and valuable items. Staying in the apartments or entrance is prohibited due to the risk of structural collapse.
“Safety works to strengthen the load-bearing structures of the entrance damaged in the air attack are proceeding as planned. Today, we started allowing residents in to retrieve documents and valuable items. We continue our work,”
said Nikita Paremuzov, head of the Sovetsky District of the city.
Earlier, there were concerns that the entrance might collapse. However, according to preliminary expert assessments, it can be preserved. Currently, emergency works are underway on site to strengthen the load-bearing elements.
The drone attacked the microdistrict on the night of January 14. The strike caused fires in several apartments. As a result of the incident, a man died, while his wife and son managed to evacuate. In total, four people were affected. For the family of the deceased, concerned citizens collected more than two million rubles (approximately $22,200 at current rates).
