Repeat offender kills woman on crossing in Mikhaylovsk

A serious accident occurred on February 4 in the Shpakovskiy district of Stavropol region. A local resident was hit, sustaining serious injuries and later died.

According to the State Traffic Inspectorate of Stavropol region, the accident occurred at about 13:30 on Lenin Street in Mikhaylovsk. The driver of a Peugeot truck was traveling from Pochtovaya Street and hit a woman who was crossing the road on a zebra crossing. As a result, the 66-year-old local resident died in an ambulance from serious injuries.
It turned out that the driver was a 38-year-old Stavropol resident with 21 years of driving experience. It is worth noting that over the past two years, he has been prosecuted 29 times for traffic violations.
Law enforcement agencies are now determining all the circumstances of the incident.
For reference, on the afternoon of February 3 on the Lermontov—Cherkessk highway, another serious accident occurred with four injured. The accident happened around 15:30 at the 27th kilometer of the road in Predgorny district. A 35-year-old driver of a Renault, traveling from Cherkessk towards Lermontov, violated traffic rules and lane markings by driving into oncoming traffic. There, the foreign car collided head-on with a Lada Granta.
