In Nizhny Novgorod, renowned Russian teacher Svetlana Seifi has passed away at the age of 87. Her death was announced by Evgeny Lyulin, chairman of the Legislative Assembly of Nizhny Novgorod Region.
Svetlana Seifi dedicated over sixty years to teaching, working at School No. 66. She founded the city«s only cosmonautics museum with authentic exhibits. Cosmonauts German Titov, Alexei Leonov, and Georgy Beregovoy personally visited the educator.
‘She didn«t just teach children, but opened up the wonderful world of knowledge to them, where life is like an exciting film — with space flights, creativity, and boundless love for the Motherland,’ noted Evgeny Lyulin.
The teacher also initiated the creation of the «Yunost» camp, which was considered the best in the region for three decades.
In his condolences, Lyulin wrote: ‘They say no one is irreplaceable. But this loss cannot be compensated for by anything. I extend my deepest and most sincere condolences to the relatives and close ones of the deceased. Together with me, thousands of fellow countrymen share your pain, who, as long as they live, will keep the memory of their beloved teacher in their hearts.’
Svetlana Seifi«s father, Talgat Seifi, was a famous designer. A memorial plaque in his honor is installed on Chaadayev Street. Evgeny Lyulin proposed naming one of the streets in the Moskovsky District of Nizhny Novgorod after this family.
The farewell for Svetlana Seifi will take place on January 22 from 11:00 to 12:30 at the S. Ordzhonikidze House of Culture, as reported by School No. 66.
