Police Raid on Illegal Migrants at St. Petersburg Vegetable Warehouse
A large-scale special operation involving police and the Russian National Guard took place at the Sofia vegetable warehouse. Law enforcement officers inspected the trading rows, warehouses, and adjacent areas in search of foreigners violating migration legislation.
During the raid, 519 people were checked, of which 363 were citizens of other countries. Some migrants attempted to hide upon noticing the approach of law enforcement, but their routes were recorded using a drone, which allowed the fugitives to be detained.
As a result of the checks, 15 people were taken to police departments. Administrative offense reports were drawn up for all of them for non-compliance with the stay regime on Russian territory.
Traffic police officers, who also participated in the operation, issued about 10 reports for various traffic violations, including driving without licenses and lacking insurance.
Similar preventive measures were previously conducted at the Kalininskaya vegetable warehouse.
