Pedestrian Fatally Struck on Tula's Eastern Bypass

In Tula around noon, a serious traffic accident occurred on the Eastern Bypass, near the turn to Globus. Eyewitnesses reported this on social media.

The accident happened near a pedestrian crossing by the arch «Hero City Tula». The video shows the body of a struck pedestrian lying a few meters behind the car. Since it is covered with a tarpaulin, the person presumably died.

The car sustained damage to the right headlight and the windshield.

The footage also shows the pedestrian«s shoes were knocked off, which may indicate the car hit the person at high speed. It is also highly likely that the person was struck on the pedestrian crossing.

Currently, traffic police officers from the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate (GAI) are at the scene, establishing the circumstances. No official information has been released.
