Passenger with hammer attacks bus in St. Petersburg
A bus driver in St. Petersburg spotted passengers running but did not wait for them. One dissatisfied passenger attacked the vehicle with a hammer, for which the court sentenced him to forced labor.

The Krasnoselsky District Court of St. Petersburg sentenced Maxim Malyavin to one year of forced labor with 10% of his salary withheld. He was found guilty of hooliganism.
The incident occurred on 29 March on bus No. 300. The driver did not wait for passengers running to the stop, closed the doors and drove off.
Malyavin, who was inside the bus, first banged on the cabin glass with his hand, but then took a hammer from his backpack. He broke the rearview mirror glass and then the cabin glass. The shards injured the driver.
During the investigation, the victim explained that he saw the runners but the doors were already closed, so he did not make another stop. He responded rudely to the passenger«s complaints and did not explain anything, citing the need to watch the road. After getting off at the next stop, Malyavin continued to threaten the driver, saying he would »kill, bury, find« him. However, after breaking the glass and seeing the cuts, he calmed down, asked to write down his phone number, and left. He was later detained.
Malyavin fully admitted his guilt, repented, and apologized to the victim. The driver did not demand a harsh punishment. The defendant«s child testified as a witness.
The hammer used in the attack was ordered to be destroyed.
