Orsk Repels Second Drone Attack, Heavy Machine Guns Used

Orsk is under drone attack again
The drone attack alert and the Carpet plan introduced on the morning of 13 August were not declared as a precaution at all. Just two days after drones struck an industrial enterprise in Orsk — which led to strict limits on fuel sales across the entire region — the city is uneasy again, and Governor Yevgeny Solntsev gave the details.
“We understand what the criminal Kyiv regime is trying to do. Today it is attempting a repeat attack on Orsk. Air defense is working. In addition, the Leninsky district of the city has been reinforced with mobile fire groups. Heavy-caliber machine guns are being used. The enemy is using an explosive device packed with numerous fragmentation elements. I ask you not to approach industrial facilities and to take shelter indoors if possible. This is life-threatening!” Solntsev said.
The head of the region also once again asked residents not to film or post online photos and videos related to drones and industrial facilities. Orsk Mayor Artyom Vorobyov said the same.
“It is deadly dangerous to be in an open space during an attack, and even more so on elevated ground. Air defense assets are being used to protect the city and enterprises, and heavy-caliber machine guns are operating. This applies especially to the observation deck near the TV tower. Anyone who ends up nearby may be hurt,” Vorobyov said.
UPD:
Sirens wailed in Orsk. We are running a live blog for you. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported drones shot down over the territory of Orenburg Region.
UPD-2:
We can breathe easy: at 11:13 the drone attack alert was lifted. The airspace over Orenburg and Orsk is open.
Recall who decides to activate the warning system and how — in this article. What to do if you see a drone in the sky, read here. Filming them is prohibited — a decree has been adopted and there are people who “earned” an administrative penalty because of it. The exact list of shelter addresses is a state secret: here is what the mayor’s office and the regional government said about them. Yevgeny Solntsev commented on internet outages during a direct line — he asked Orenburg residents to “bear with it.”
