A resident of the Orenburg region in Bashkiria was sentenced to two years in a penal colony for a fatal accident that occurred in November 2025. This was reported by colleagues from UFA1.RU, citing the republic«s prosecutor»s office.
The tragedy occurred in the Kuyurgazinsky district on the Ufa–Orenburg highway. The 58-year-old defendant, driving a Freightliner fuel tanker, drove into oncoming traffic and collided with a Toyota RAV4.
The passenger of the foreign car died at the scene. UTV reported that the victim«s legs were torn off. The driver of the Toyota was hospitalized.

The supervisory agency reported that the fuel tanker belonged to the defendant»s employer.

«Not having time to complete the overtaking maneuver, he collided head-on with an oncoming «Toyota RAV4»» — reads the version published by the prosecutor«s office press service, adding that the second victim»s health suffered «serious harm».
The Orenburg resident pleaded guilty. In addition to the prison sentence, he also lost his driver«s license for two years.
