Novaya Adygea residents describe bloody UAV attack aftermath

Residents of Krasnodar and the neighboring Novaya Adygea heard explosions and a loud hum on the night of January 20. After that, many saw a glow in the sky — a powerful fire broke out in one of the residential complexes behind the Turgenev Bridge. Authorities confirmed that the fire engulfed parked cars and apartment buildings.

According to the head of Adygea, Murat Kumpilov, 8 people were injured, including 1 child. Seven victims were taken to the hospital, and there is no threat to life. As reported by 93.RU, the head of the Takhtamukaysky District, Savv Asker, said that the injuries are from shrapnel.

93.RU journalist Nikita Zyryanov spoke with people who live in Novaya Adygea in the yard where the emergency occurred. Locals say that in the first minutes, they were gripped by panic. Currently, residents of at least two buildings have been evacuated, and a temporary accommodation point is operating for the victims at school No. 12 on Bzhedugskaya Street.

«I was starting to fall asleep, nothing foreshadowed trouble, and I see a very bright explosion. My windows were blown out, and I started to panic very much. I went out into the yard to look. There was a glow, I heard screams, it was burning strongly. They already allowed us to enter the house, but I»m still scared.«

«We heard three explosions, on the third — we saw a flash,» say the girls working in a nearby store. «The management told us to pack up, we ran home, while we ourselves don»t understand what«s happening, none of our friends or acquaintances were injured.»

«Our car burned down in the parking lot. The balconies are torn to pieces, especially where the hit was. The hit was right between the houses. Everything was blown away. The firefighters arrived after an hour.»

«There»s a hole on the first floor, everything in blood. I don«t know how many victims — they were carrying people out on stretchers.»

«All the windows on my balcony flew out. Other than that, I don»t know what«s next, because I only had time to get dressed a little and ran out.»

«Fortunately, nothing flew out for us, nothing was broken. But the neighboring apartment was very badly damaged. There, the windows and balconies are broken. For us, thank God, everything is intact. In the first minute, we didn»t understand anything at all. A flash and that«s it. An explosion, and we ran in panic to the toilet. It was very scary. But so far, everything is whole with us. We don»t know what will happen next.«

93.RU journalist reports that residents have been allowed to return to apartments in the houses that remained intact. They are only letting people into the damaged buildings to turn off the lights, retrieve documents, and necessary items.
